What is obedience? Our philosophy is that obedience in a dog is when a dog completes a task because he wants to and not because he is forced to. We teach obedience by a reward based system and reduce the conflict between dog and handler. This makes the dog happy, the owner happy and the dog learns quicker! Training this way also faciliates trust between the dog and the owner as well as building a stronger bond between them.
North Texas K9 offers beginner, intermediate and advanced classes. These range from dog behavior psychology, health issues, basic obedience then all the way to winning competitions. All classes can be modified to what you want from your dog or what the group wants. I believe in dog socialization skills (NO dog fighting) so we teach classes in a group setting. I will show you how to handle your dog but rarely handle your dog myself. The philosophy is simple, that is your partner and the dog needs to depend on you. The dog must trust you and you must trust the dog. Once this bond is established, you will have a bond stronger than you could ever imagine!
